Wyoming Dive Teams Open Air Force Diving Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Wyoming Cowboy and Cowgirl dive teams kicked off the first day of the Air Force Diving Invitational on Thursday at the Air Force Academy Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs. Ten teams are competing in this year’s three-day competition. Events include men’s and women’s 1-meter dives, 3-meter dives and platform dives. The top 12 divers for each event preliminary/quarterfinals advance to the finals.


Thursday’s events featured the preliminary, quarterfinals, and championships in the Women’s’ 1-meter dive and them Men’s 3-meter dive. 

“We had a good start to the week with Nettie and Gabby making the finals on the 1M,” head diving coach Mark Murdock said. “The team has put in the time and work but now they need to believe in what they are capable of.”


In the Women’s 1-meter dive, 39 participants competed with Nettie Knapton taking 10th place with a total score of 235.95. Gabby Haigler took 13th place with a total score of 229.35.

Action picks up again Friday morning at 10:30 with the preliminary, quarterfinals, and championships in the women’s 3-meter dive and the men’s 1-meter dive. The meet concludes on Saturday with both women’s and men’s platform preliminaries, quarterfinals, and championships.
