COLORADO SPRINGS – The University of Wyoming men’s and women’s dive teams wrapped up the three-day Air Force Diving Invitational inside Cadet Natatorium with Saturday’s efforts of the women’s and men’s platform preliminaries, quarterfinals and championships.

“We finished the week slightly stressed about the weather but that didn’t stop Nettie (Knapton) from making her third finals,” head diving coach Mark Murdock said. “She finished 6th overall, scoring 216.85. There were a lot of great divers this week at the invite. It allowed the team to see what to except at conference. Now we have two weeks to get everything cleaned up and ready for championships.”

In the women’s platform competition, Nettie Knapton finished best for the Cowgirls finishing 6th with the score of 216.85. She qualified in all three events.

Other divers who competed today in the preliminary round for Wyoming were Natalie Six, Alicia Gonzalez, Brinkley Lewis, and Madelynn Appelhans.

Up next, the Cowboys and Cowgirls travel to the University of Denver’s El Pomar Natatorium for the Denver First Chance Meet next Friday and Saturday in what is their last meet of the regular season. The women’s team then heads to Houston, Texas, for the Mountain West Conference championships on Feb. 21-24.
